The NY Times article about the Islanders’ just announced move to Brooklyn claims that this is a blow to Long Islanders’ “civic pride”. I don’t know what they’re talking about. My favorite sports team playing in one of the nation’s worst arenas, in the middle of Nassau County, was certainly not a source of “pride”. I’m just looking at these pictures and hearing Beyonce’s Upgrade U in my head.
