The worst thing about these debates is the use of the “I met a man in [some town] [some state] who told me he’s lost fourteen jobs and has been out of work since 1972” maneuver. Just once I’d like a candidate to say “I met a man in Dayton, who told me he’s tired of only existing as a cliched rhetorical device in stump speeches. He want to live a real life, as a real person!”
